This project was a huge collaborative effort between Miracle, the City of Canning, local school students and other members of the Canning community. The works at this park were all inspired by a local young resident writing a letter to the city and requesting improvements at the park. They held community brainstorming sessions, put together a plan and that plan was put in to action!
The request was for a timber-based playground which was to include a Flying Fox, a Basket Swing and other components related to climbing and scaling, and Ninja Warrior style of play. Mulch softfall was to be used to keep the play area complimentary to the surrounding environment. A supplied Spinner was to be incorporated into the design and rubber softfall was to be installed under that and the Basket Swing.
The equipment chosen for this project was a nature-based design including a 25m Timber Cableway, a Timber Birds Nest swing and a variety of net climbing activities. Being the community project that it was, the Council added finishing touches to the park with timber sculptures made by a local artist.
